Cultural traditions and family obligations can also hold African women back from living up to their potential.In order to answer the various challenges faced by businesswomen in Africa and to support them as dynamic development agents, the ACCESS! programme has been designed by a team of African trade experts to increase export readiness and success of African businesswomen on regional and international markets.
Operated in a total of 19 Sub-Saharan African countries, ACCESS! is covering products and markets which are particularly relevant for women producers and exporters in Africa. ACCESS! has also been developed and is being implemented in collaboration with a network of African trade support institutions, regional partners, African trainers and experts.
Because of its African dimension, its modularity, the relevance of the topics covered and technical information provided, ACCESS! has grown to be a recognized programme for women exporters in Africa. It has helped women realize their economic potential and thereby contributes concretely to poverty reduction and improved standards of living.
